Bassmaster Elite Series Pro Dakota Ebare, in collaboration with Bass University, presents a seminar focused on seasonal swimbaits for targeting big bass. Prior to forward facing sonar, you needed clear water to see the bait and the fish's reaction to it. With advancements in technology, swimbaits have become more versatile, but the latest tech isn't required to catch a tropky with big swimbaits.
In this seminar, Dakota showcases the new Strike King Final Copy swimbait, a very versatile bait, breaking down its components and detailing his setup for fishing it. Ebare says he has tested the Final Copy bait at Lake Fork and Sam Rayburn, and is catching giant bass. He emphasizes the importance of a seasonal approach, discussing how he targets big bass in each season.
Ebare describes the components of the Final Copy, explaining that it is a harness style swimbait with a magnet inside. It also has a treble hook that sits inside and slides in a streamline manner. The magnet is strong allow skipping the bait under docks without the hook swinging around. The magnet inside has been increased in strength and has heat shrink around it so it does not come out. A weight in the front makes this bait unique and allows it to run deeper than other swimbaits.
Ebare says there is nothing better than getting bit on a big swimbait . He says when slow rolling it there's a good way to tell if it's a big one. Ebare recommends having that having a good attitude and right outlook are important, just like having the write setup. He recommends experimenting with the bait and not being afraid to throw bigger baits in high pressure situations. Ebare emphasizes the versatility of the bait and that fish will eat it no matter the season.
If you want to see the new Strike King Final Copy swimbait in action and learn Dakota's techniques for using larger swimbaits, this seminar with Bass University is sure to provide you with valuable tips.
